Blanket Burrito CEO: Running Life & Biz on Your Period (Like A Pro)

Running your business while on your period doesn’t have to feel like pushing through quicksand. By honouring your cycle and planning ahead, you can turn your period into a time of creativity, alignment, and flow. Here’s how to streamline both your business and your life so you thrive—blanket burrito and all.

So last time, we talked about the Period Saddies—the blanket burrito moods, the cravings, and the “I just want to disappear into a rom-com” kind of vibes. And if you haven’t yet, you can peep my go-to snack list here.

👉 Stay tuned, because today we’re diving into something even juicier: cycle syncing and how to actually run your business (and your life) in flow with your period.

Honouring Your Ebb & Flow

Here’s the truth… A truth that took me “way too long” to learn… You don’t have to push yourself into hustle mode when your body is literally saying, “babe, we’re bleeding, let’s chill.” Instead, you can work with your cycle, not against it. That means knowing what you’re like during your period and planning ahead.

Aligned Essentials for Human Design Projectors: Rest & Reset During Your Period

I’ve rounded up my favourite products that make life (and business) feel way more effortless and aligned. From cozy tools for rest to project-friendly essentials, check out my curated list here.

Let’s get into the tips!

👉 Tip #1: Prep Like a Pro

If you know you get sluggish, “lazy,” or want to live your best burrito life, plan for it.

  • Cook your favourite meals ahead of time.

  • Chop veggies and freeze them for easy soups.

  • Batch create your social media, YouTube, or blog content before your period starts.

  • Schedule lighter tasks that feel cozy and fulfilling—like art, design, or journaling.

Ask yourself:
👉 What am I like during my period?

For example, I know I don’t feel like talking to a lot of people. I’d rather skip sales calls and lean into behind-the-scenes things that feel creative and grounding—like painting, submitting art to galleries, or writing blogs like this.

“Anything you can do online can be done from bed.”
— Sunny

Why leave your blanket burrito? Anything online can happen from here.

Tip #2: Schedule Your Social (or Anti-Social) Life

Do you want to host a party while cramping? Probably not. Don’t set yourself up for burnout. If you know you’re more introverted during your period, skip big social events and honour your need for inward time. Maybe that looks like:

  • Connecting with one or two close friends

  • Spending time in nature

  • Crafting or creating quietly with loved ones

  • Or even full-on “I’m a loner this week, thanks bye.”

Give yourself permission to design your business and life around your real energy—not what you “should” be doing… Cause let’s be real… that’s performative… keep that in theatre class.

Be extra when you wanna be.

Tip #3: Feed Your Body What It Needs

Yes, the cravings are real (hello dark chocolate 👋), but balancing those out with healthy fats and nourishing meals can help stabilize your mood and energy. Think of it as fueling your creativity and giving your body love, not punishment. I like to have a lot of seeds and proteins during this time to help with the cravings, so I’m not eating a Costco-sized bag of chips, ice cream, popcorn and everything in between.

Tip #4: Honour Rest as Productive

Your period is a natural inward cycle. Rest is not laziness—it’s part of the flow. When you give yourself permission to slow down, you actually come back stronger in the next phase of your cycle.

I find myself VERY creative during this time, and I love jotting down ideas, brainstorming, journaling, doodling and allowing. Check out my ALL TIME favourite journals here: They allow you to draw, doodle, write, paint, collage, journal, take notes, brainstorm and so much more!

You can do anything you dream of, you can attract anything that has a true desire… but you don’t have to do it all on your period, that’s burnout sweetie. Use this time to relax, connect, eat some snacks and keep things productive behind-the-scenes.

💫 Your Cycle is a Superpower

The more you plan ahead, the more your period becomes less of an obstacle and more of a natural rhythm in your business and life. Imagine syncing your launches, creative projects, and even your social energy with the cycles of your body. That’s true alignment.

Get out of your head, and into your body!

With my fave ways to rest, brainstorm and get creative from your blanket burrito!

The Tech I Swear By (So You Can Stop Googling at 1 A.M.)

If tech overwhelms you, but you know you need it to grow, this blog is for you. I'm breaking down my go-to software and tools that actually work for creatives, coaches, and soul-led business owners (without draining your energy or burning you out). Plus, I’m sharing the exact systems I’ve used myself and with clients, so you can stop guessing and start building a business that feels good.

Running a soul-led business doesn't mean you have to suffer through bad design, clunky workflows, or systems that make you want to toss your laptop out a window.

I know what it’s like to be the creative, the visionary, the coach, the content machine—all while trying to make your calendar sync, your client forms not glitch, and your website actually reflect your magic.

Let’s be real: Tech isn’t the enemy. It’s the bridge—between burnout and ease, chaos and clarity, idea and income.

But only if you're using the right tools.

Some of the links I share may be affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you! I only recommend things I genuinely love and align with. Weirdo at heart. Healing with humour. Expressing authenticity and joy 💖✨🙂‍↕️🌻🙏

Note: Any pricing mentioned for tech and software tools on this page reflects the most accurate information as of July 14, 2025. Plans and pricing may change, so we always recommend checking the official site for the latest updates—especially if you're a savvy deal-hunter like us.

Benable is an app like Pinterest for lists! AND… you can earn passive income through commissions and affiliate links using this platform. Not everything has an affiliate link; however, I am so obsessed with creating lists… this was a NO BRAINER for me.

Sleek, intuitive, and seriously powerful—Squarespace is our go-to for building stunning, high-converting websites without the need for a full dev team.

This very site is built on Squarespace, and I’ve personally designed, launched, and watched our Velvet VAs craft beautifully branded, strategically sound websites using this platform.

Easy to learn. Gorgeous to work with. Surprisingly fun to build in.

And when it’s time to hand off your site for updates, maintenance, or if you want the entire thing handled hands-off, our Velvet VA team has you covered—delivering luxe, reliable care that keeps your online presence flawless and stress-free.

Plus, Sunny—Velvet VA’s founder—sometimes gets lucky with exclusive Squarespace offers, like 20% off your subscription. It’s not always available, but when it is, consider it our little insider secret to help you save while levelling up your site.

Squarespace isn’t just for beginners—it’s for visionaries who want elegance and ease.

Pro tip for the free plan:
You can still create a beautiful booking link and set your availability just like the paid version. The only thing missing? Zoom integration. But don’t sweat it—either upgrade to the $6/month plan or simply hop into your Zoom calendar, click on each scheduled meeting, and generate a Zoom link in one click (or have your VA do it for you 🙌).

Elegant, functional, and totally worth having in your tech stack.
